ACDSee™ 4.0 -> ACDSee™ 4.0.2
In keeping with our commitment to provide high quality software and timely updates for our customers, we are pleased to announce a free update for all "full" (licensed) versions of ACDSee™ 4.0, including: ACDSee™ 4.0, ACDSee™ 4.0 Suite, ACDSee™ 4.0 PowerPack, and ACDSee™ 4.0 PowerPack Suite.
This update also applies to any ACDSee™ 4.0 products that have been previously updated with the Service Release 1 Update of December 13, 2001.
The Service Release 2 Update for ACDSee™ 4.0 full versions offers the following benefits:
- The database now requires significantly less memory and is more reliable.
- Improved stability during database maintenance.
- Smoother image resizing and scrolling.
- EXIF metadata in TIFF files can now be edited.
- Embedding thumbnails into EXIF metadata in JPEG files is now supported.
- Support for .crw files created by Canon S30 and S40 cameras.
- E-mail plug-in now sets the last sending account as the default for convenience; accounts in the Cc: field are no longer duplicated in subsequent e-mails; proper subject lines are shown in Outlook™.
- Database information that is entered while using PhotoSee is preserved when transferring files from PhotoSee to ACDSee™.
- The decoding of PSD files is now the same as in version 3.1.
- LuraWave® and LuraDocument® file-format plug-in trials are no longer included.
The Service Release 2 Update also includes all the benefits of the Service Release 1 Update:
- Faster start-up and improved overall speed.
- Enhanced folder hierarchy in the Photo Discs pane with complete thumbnail viewing.
- Reduced memory requirements.
- Improved program speed when using removable disks and portable storage devices.
- Image description support for the Contact Sheet.
- Improved thumbnail viewing of Canon RAW format Generator print tool.
Instructions to install this update for ACDSee™ 4.0 and 4.0.1 (Service Release 1):
- Click the Download Now link.
- Select Save this program to disk.
- Click OK. If prompted, replace the previously downloaded .exe file.
- Close ACDSee™ and any other ACD Systems programs.
- Run the downloaded .exe file and follow the instructions.
